about
The tarot card for new beginnings;
Life has hit me with a pound of bricks
It has hit me with a deck of cards that were unplayable
It has hit me with a thousand thorns that immersed themselves into my bloodstream;
yet,
I am a peach,
I am bruised,
yet,
still edible;
still abundant;
still willing to grow after years of mistreatment of the soil and roots.
Nephele is a cloud nymph who suffered so that another wouldn’t have to face what she had to.
She was a facade who was created to serve and protect kin.
She was brave and showed no fear when in the face of her greatest nightmare.
and so she
is now me.
Looking back, and remembering everything that happened,
Even though the thoughts seem sore
They push me forward.
Life lives in the hurt that you sit with at night, curled up in your bed feeling as if you can't breathe
Life lives in the joy you feel when you climb to your highest highs and look down upon the trails once traveled
Life lives in your kin, your future wills and wants and everything between.
There is forever light in the dark
And forever dark in the light
Everything that has happened to me in the past has made me who I am today, and how could I say I would want anything different?
Force yourself to be uncomfortable; because if you're comfortable, you're not pushing yourself to new heights, not learning anything new, no coping mechanisms to be discovered. If you’re comfortable, are you living a life that fulfills your soul to the bottom of your core?
lyrics
Did you think it was just a facade?
cause, in the end, was it really love?
codependency never worked for me
just turn off your tv screen
and see
what the world has to offer you but it's
not me
go waste your time on someone who will make you laugh
cause I know I made you cry
if you ask for space
don't burn out the stars
been a couple years since I remembered you last
staring back in the faded glass
an image I can no longer recall
but shes called by my first name
in silence, we lay awake
surrounded by my mistake
the moon has a dark side too
can you blame him?
just see
what the world has to offer you but its
not me
go waste your time on someone who will make you laugh
cause I know I made you cry
if you ask for space
don't burn out the stars
